Silverberg Goldman & Bikoff, LLP represents its aviation clients before the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board, the Department of State, the Department of Commerce, state regulatory agencies and before the courts. The firm represents major U.S. and foreign air carriers, regional air carriers, cargo air carriers, airport authorities, on demand air taxi operators, fixed base operators, repair stations, aeronautical parts suppliers, and aircraft owners and operators. The firm’s clients in the specialized aviation area of practice, headed by Michael F. Goldman and Robert P. Silverberg, include numerous U.S. and foreign airlines, local government and airport authorities in the U.S., aircraft parts manufacturers and other entities in the transportation business. Over the years, Mr. Silverberg has represented Aerial Transit Company, Airborne Express, Air South Airlines, Alaska Central Express, American Airlines, Atlantic Coast Airlines, DHL Airways, Emery Air Freight, LAPSA, MarkAir and MarkAir Express, Midwest Express Airlines, Kitty Hawk Air Cargo, Air Florida, Alaska Airlines, Air India, Trans World Airlines, Seaboard World Airlines, Kuwait Airways, Southern Air Transport, National Helicopter Corporation of America, the Air Transport Association, the State of Alaska and the City of Manchester England, and other aviation related entities. Mr. Silverberg is the past Chair of the Air and Space Law Forum of the American Bar Association. Mr. Goldman has represented Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Board, the North Carolina DOT, the Port of Seattle, Denver Stapleton International Airport, New York State DOT, the Puerto Rico Ports Authority, Air France, UTA-French Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines Systems, T.A.B. (Transportes Aereos Bolivianos), Empire Airlines, Northwest Airlines, and Pan American World Airways, and has served as consultant to a number of other airlines and airports. Mr. Goldman has also been active in the founding of U.S. Airports for Better International Air Service ("USA-BIAS"), which advocates the interests of the nation's non-traditional gateway airports before Washington policy-makers on international aviation issues. Silverberg Goldman & Bikoff attorneys likewise are experienced in general contractual relations and commercial matters between private parties, including aviation vendors and suppliers, and agreements such as code-share or market cooperation arrangements between air carriers. We have represented our airline clients in negotiations over code shares/blocked space agreements, frequent flyer programs, wet leases, aircraft sale, lease and purchase transactions, and other business arrangements.
